Hello,
I am new to building paludariums/vivariums/terrariums and need help with ideas for the setup of the tank. I will be housing two fire belly toads that enjoy the water more than land and also dont enjoy to climb. I have read a little on a false bottom but am not entirely sure if I should somehow make a small lip on it to keep substrate out of water... Also, im having trouble finding a filter/pump that will work with only 4 inches of water depth. I would love any help (preferably no links) with these questions and the setup in general. Thank u.

Hi, what you are looking for is an internal filter system. They can be oriented many different angles, and have spray bars sometimes. Whisper makes some, I was planning on using their 20 gallon model for my first paludarium build, because I am including fish.

Hello. I agree with @tmos540 on the internal filtration system. However, you may have an easier time using something like this https://www.amazon.com/HEEPDD-Subme...est+aquarium+powerhead&qid=1619326309&sr=8-13 and surrounding the water area in either expandable foam or some pic pipe kind of thing. Also, you will want to surround the pump in either mesh or fine filter sponge. Also, you will want to plant the water section to help keep nitrogen levels low.
