I had these posted in the construction section but now they are planted I figured I would move it over here.....

My first build on my 60g cube I did GS and clay, but on these vivs I decided to do the GS and silicone style background.

Here are some pics of the 2 vivs finished before being planted....I just have to get the racks situated and lights installed and these will be ready to planted.

12x12x18 #1

Base of the cork background

Kind of a top down...

Viv #2

I drilled some holes in the cork to put some broms once these are ready to be planted.

I have another 12x12x18 and a 18x18x24 that will be built sometime this week. The viv #1 I think will be used for some R. Flavovittata I have coming, the other viv #2 will be for my second pair of R. imitator 'varadero''. Will add pics of #3 and #4 once they get built. I do know the 18x18x24 will be for a group of R. variabilis 'Highland' and the #3 will be for a small group of R. lamasi 'Orange'.

Nice! Watch out for that brom that isn't upright in viv #1... it won't fare well if it can't hold water. Also I'm not a huge fan of the brom placement in viv #2... looks way too symmetrical to me. Just my 2 cents.

I stick my brims facing the front of the tank in the cracks of my background all the time without any issues. The roots have actually gripped the wall even though the plant grows perpendicular to the wall! A little bit of an incline upwards could help, but thanks to my misting system the plant stays in good shape!

No worries bro...Had a hard time drilling and having the bit not run as it started to bite into the cork, it ended up being drilled out that way I didn't even notice it till you mentioned it does look a little unnatural....

I might have to change it up a bit with a brom that has some pups maybe it will throw it off a bit? I try it out tomorrow, that one is destine for my second pair of varaderos mainly just hoping to have it be a breeder tank.....But good point on that one thanks for pointing it out....
