I used the relative calm after christmas to start constructing my next build. It will house either Ranitomeya Imitator 'green' or Ranitomeya variabilis. After the very constructive discussion I still can not decide, which I like better. I will also have to see if I can even find a breeder for both in my area.
I went with a cork Background again, that I siliconed to the glass and added two large pieces of driftwood to offer climbing space.
I added ABG today and will likely add plants tomorrow. Could have been a good tank for gravel, since I plan to go mostly with epiphytes, but I still had ABG from my last build.

Looks nice, I really like cork backgrounds! What kind of epiphytes are you thinking of using?
They really have grown in me aswell since I first saw @Tijl use them.

I have some Neoreglia I want to add, originally I planned to use "Hades" but the specimen I got is really big, so I will probably use it for another build.
At the moment I've got Blushing Tiger, Mephisto, amazon for bigger bromeliad and Ampulacea purpurea and ampulacea tigrina for smaller bromeliads.
I also ordered two Masdevallia nidifica and a Ceratosylus retisquama syn. rubra for orchids. Might add more depending on how the scape works out and how the initial plants adjust.

For ground coverage I want one larger plant in the right corner, but have not yet decided what I want. Originally the Bromeliads I wanted to use all had a purple hue, so I was considering a persian shield plant, but we will have to see. I have a jewel orchid that I might use in the front of the enclosure and also two crypanthus.
I also still have some selaginella uncinata.

Which would leave me with vining plants. I plan to use Marcgravia umbellata and Marcgravia spec. and Rhaphidophora hayi.

Probably more plants than I will be able to fit in the end, but we will see.

Initial planting is done. Added all the Bromeliads. The build is still missing a plant for the right corner, I am currently thinking about a farn, but am open for suggestions. I will also still add some orchids to the wood and have a jewel orchid that I am considering for the front left part.

These two beauties moved into their new enclosure on Saturday. I am really impressed by their boldness so far. They are active and not bolting for cover when I approach the tank.

Those are some sweet looking frogs. I’m new to the hobby and am in the process of getting stuff together for a terribilis Viv, but I have an extra 18x18x24 laying around and I’m really tempted to get some Ranitomeya already…

They really are beautiful and from what I have read here on the board also a more beginner friendly Ranitomeya. I can't really chime a light on how they are as a first frog in comparison to Teribilis. Personally I started with a group of Auratus.
