Hi everyone I'm currently in the planning stage for a rebuild of my terrarium room. Just looking for a few opinions. Overview: The first rack will contain 216 tanks, (4 levels of 54 tanks divided into 3 bays of 18 totalling 10.9m). Each tank has front and top ventilation. All terrariums...

I do not have my frogs yet. I will be getting them when I feel most comfortable with my vivarium. Is having the top completely covered okay? I have ventilation in the front but will that be enough?

Hi all, I have a 40G breeder set up growing in, with the standard wire mesh lid. On top of the lid are an LED light, a PC fan for circulation, and a plastic cover I scrounged from an aquarium hood. This leaves approx a 36"X6" strip of uncovered lid mesh exposed. Pics attached for reference...

I’m new to dart frogs. I’m cycling a tank for a couple months so I can make sure I’ve got the temp and humidity going as well as my cleanup crew. I have a tank with a false bottom. It’s an exoterra about the size of a 40 gallon breeder tank. I have ABG mix substrate and it’s fully planted...

Hello fellow Dendros! I have been a lurker on this forum for a few months now, soaking in as much information as possible before I begin my own venture into the fascinating world of PDFs this spring! I have seen Pumilo's thread regarding the creation of homemade screen vents, however upon...

Hey, so I'm planning my first viv and was just reading the great advice in this thread: https://www.dendroboard.com/forum/beginner-discussion/90220-misting-beginners.html I'm planning on getting a custom glass top with an inch and a half or two inch gap in the back to screen for ventilation...

Hi Dendroboard! I've been recently considering buying a grow tent to grow some vivarium-suited plants. I know I can get the kind of lights I'd need for growth, and I can probably make space for a rather large tent. I have had difficulty, however, in understanding all the things one needs to...

I'm trying to figure out how wide I want to get a piece of glass for the top of an Exo Terra, and that relies on figuring out how wide a strip I want to make the ventilation screen. I have a screen window kit from ages ago, which looks like this: The problem with that is these corners...

It's been a few years since I have worked on a larger tank, but I've finally got my hands on the tank I've wanted since I started in the hobby. It's a 95G corner aquarium. It's already been drilled at the bottom (it was previously a reef tank), so that makes my life easier. I'm planning a...

Hello, everyone! I'm a newb in the PDF hobby, but have always been fascinated by tropical plants and frogs. After months of research, I converted a 29 gallon (long) aquarium into a vivarium with a ledge for hanging plants, a small pond, and a dribbling waterfall. However, I have no lid...

Well I have been wanting to build a a nice show tank for awhile so figured I would pick a nice 24' cube aquarium. Im planning the build for either some Oophaga pumilio or a some kind of ranitomeya. The tank will be a 360 degree view so no background will be made. I picked out a really nice piece...

Has anybody tried rubbing potato slices on the glass of their vivs to cut down on the amount of condensation you get? I've seen people do it with their car windows to some effect, and I figure it shouldn't be harmful to any darts that would come into contact with the juices.

Hey I need some input, please. I'd like to install some PC fans in my vivarium for air circulation. I'd like them to mount facedown on the top glass lids. I want to do this kind of install to keep the fans from being visible inside the vivarium. I've been searching, but haven't found anything...

Hi! I have been searching previous posts and I haven't had any luck so far. I am trying to figure out how to make a vivarium cover (for 20L and 29 aquariums). I have come to the conclusion that the best way for me right now would just be to get the living hinge material from NEHerp, cut...

What's the maximum safe hole size in 3/16" glass for ventilation and how many can I have. Where should they be located in the lid? This is for a two piece 20 gallon high. Would a few 3/8" holes work or do I need to go bigger? Thank you!

Hey Everyone, I am beginning to work on a 40 gallon breeder and am wondering what others have done to vent this size tank. Currently I am thinking about drilling 4-6 2" holes across the top for passive ventilation and two holes on the sides of the tank towards the front with one fan pushing...

How do most of you go about replacing the screen top with glass? It's a 12x12x18 exo terra so the opening is about 11.25x11.25. I was going to go to Lowes and have them cut a piece of glass about 11.25x9.5 in order to leave some room for ventilation. My question is, how do you cover the vent to...

Hello, I have come up with a new method for under door ventilation that I would like to share with you all. The "Sherman vent" preforms the same way as the "Euro vent", it allows air to be drawn in under the doors preventing condensation. However, the Sherman vents vertical screen does not...
