I have looked through many threads about mold or fungus appearing in tanks, maybe I missed something. My situation is this, I've had some sort of fungus since the beginning of my plant-only vivarium. most of the time it wouldn't bother me and I was fine with it but now I need help. I have...

Hey guys! First time posting in awhile — in 2019, I pared down my collection significantly and "left" the hobby due to some life event stuff, but it's 2022 and I'm ready to rebuild nice vivariums for my remaining buddies. I was checking on a plant bin, and noticed something that looked an...

Hi I have a small peace lily in my tank that is growing this on the underside of this one leaf but also I have seen a spot like this on a stem. Can anyone identify this? Is the tank due to a teardown? When the white is disturbed it pops out and I guess this brown mass inside is spores.

Hello guys, I have recently found these white spots popping on a piece of wood attached to the background of my brazilian rainbow boa vivarium. Does anybody has any idea of what it is? My guess is that's either a type of mold or mycelium but I'm not sure. I attached pictures below

As you can see below, I have a bad case of fungus in one of my vivs. It started out with a few yellow mushrooms, but has now bloomed into this. All the soil in the viv looks like this. I add new springtails every few weeks, and have tried to cut back on misting, but no luck. The soil isn't...

I have the white fungus on my driftwood in my terrarium that is nearly a month old. I've learned it's not harmful and will eventually go away. But now I have what looks like white mushrooms or something growing on the driftwood too. Does anyone know what it is? I want to get some dart frogs soon...

I have fungus taking over my vivarium (no animals yet, planning on adding a frog eventually!). Seeded with springtails and isopods, and the springtails are definitely breeding. I can see them all over. I haven't seen an isopod since adding them, but I haven't dug around too much. I also have...

I've noticed some mold or fungus growing in my newly planted viv. I've heard it's common for this to happen but it seems to only be growing on my wood pieces which are in close proximity to a plant. I'm just worried the mold will take over the tank before I can even put frogs in it. There are...

I recently went on vacation for a few weeks and when I came back I had an over abundance of this white fungus mold looking stuff stuck all over my center piece of drift wood. Does anyone know what this is. Could it be a byproduct of the over abundance of mushrooms that have been springing up?

I have some white mold/fungus stuff growing on one of my broms. I pulled it from the viv and it's soaking in a window for now. Any ideals what it is and what to do?

Hi guys! I was sent over here from the Pangea forums to help get an ID on a mushroom I keep finding in my tanks. I just want to make double sure it's safe to put a trio of mourning geckos in there before I accidentally off them :/ Anywho, some pictures: Tank (iHerp link: iHerp : Member Blog ...

The US Fish & Wildlife Service recently solicited comments on its proposal to list amphibians as injurious wildlife under the Lacey Act UNLESS certified free of chytrid fungus. You can read the letter I submitted to the USFWS here:

So this "thing" started off on the floor of the cage and has managed to "climb" its way up (about 18") in just a couple days. It has no "roots" that attach itself to the floor. What is it??
