perhaps you should try dartfrogs instead...they only make noise (usually!) in the daytime, and are lots that you can hardly hear....plus they are not asleep at night so you can enjoy them during the day..!

Female tree frogs don't call so make no noise, but sometimes it is hard to get a sexed adult. Red eyed tree frog noises aren't offensive or loud, i find them funny and pleasant! They aren't loud enough to wake anyone either. Ruby eyed tree frogs too are quiet they just make a low popping noise and don't do it often. They can be hard to find though.
Some frogs to avoid that can be noisy enough to wake you.
Whites tree frogs,
Amazon milk frogs
Giant Monkey frogs
American green tree frogs
grey tree frogs
european green tree frogs
Youtube any you are thinking of and you should find a video of it calling.

Yes I have tried and they did amplexus a couple times but nothing ever came of it. I got 4 more recently but they all turned out to be male

Not to forget the barking tree frog, and the loudest of all--the white lipped tree frog!

That said, some available tree frogs have calls that are actually rather attractive--go to amphibiaweb.org and listen!

White lipped are incredibly loud. Bred them once about 20 years ago and had around 3000 tadpoles. That was a crazy experience!

Around 1990, Bronx Zoo had a surplus of white-lips, so I got one. Grew into a good pet frog. Bigger and a bit more skittish than a White's, but ate out of my hand and never bothered smaller herps.
