All of those are good for retailers , and people who have been kicked off hobbyist forums.
There is always a diamond in the rough. But way too many scammers and generic sales looking to push animals.
There is a frog classifieds for a reason, hobbyist to hobbyist.

Good Luck,
Daryl

Best place to buy is here! Support the hobby by purchasing from the hobby. Be wary of anyplace that goes far out of their way to distance themselves from the hobby. Long after they are gone, many of the people here will still be here. Read vendor feedback. It is, arguably, your best tool! If their not in the feedback section there may very well be good reason.

Your first post on a frog forum shouldn't be where else can I get frogs from.Go to our classified section and look there.

Why not? He could also try frogforum which wasn't mentioned. Not everyone will be on this forum and not everyone regularly advertises...there are sites of people who used to be sponsors here but aren't any longer and would still be a good place to seek out some frogs.

Oh I didn't realize that was my first post here. I,m from the other frog forum. Sorry for not introducing myself first. But no worrys, this website is definitely in my top 4 places I'd look to first to buy my frogs. I just don't want to miss out on anything really exotic. The more options the merrier.

A couple of my dream frogs would be blue sided leaf frogs and black eyed tree frogs but I know they are hard to get right now. That's why I want to look EVERYWHERE. I even talked to Michael Novy about those. And he said they aren't even being imported to the US anymore.

Now on another note, I Really want to get some Gray Tree Frogs but I can't find them anywhere, and these frogs used to be common. They used to always carry them at my local pet shop. And about 20 years ago I bought 5 and let me tell you those are some of my fav frogs ever. They are really cool. So I went to the pet shop I used to get them from and the owner said "Gray Tree Frogs are hard to get now."
So for now I'll keep dreaming and searching for the blue sided leaf frogs and the black eyed tree frogs......
But For the grays.....I think I'm going to find me some Gray Tree Frogs soon

Thanks for all the feed back everyone and special thanks to MyDumName for defending me. I got your back man. Really.

I'm sorry for sounding so harsh and welcome to the forum, just as your first post,it almost seemed like you could have been trolling. There are a lot of good people here to learn and to buy from.I was thinking Mike novy when you said treefrogs, but you already had him covered.

Where are you located?Greys are wild here in NJ but they are endangered so they are illegal to own here. They are cool frogs though.I live in a game preserve and when we bought our house there was a pool which we left up because we noticed tadpoles in it.There were thousands of greys and a couple of other species of tree frogs in it.We left the pool up for three years before it blew the liner so we had to tear it down. They are pretty loud though. When they started to breed you couldn't hear yourself think, but I loved it.It was almost like keeping them but from afar.

Man I wish I could have came to your house when you had a pool full.

All the gray tree frogs I've owned we're gray..... I've never owned a green one.

I sorta thought that but was looking for a more "correct" name, having had the red eyed (retf)...and some Lutinos...but just wanted to be sure. I loved having the retfs...but seeing them move around for 10 minutes a day was discouraging...so am enjoying having diurnal frogs much more so...but that whole family of tree frogs is amazing...

There were so many of them morphing out at almost any given time for a five+ week period (each year)it was like a little froglet army. They were grey, green, and some that were marbled in between.I keep a couple 300 gallon stock tanks around the yard for them now,but it's nothing compared to the almost 14,000 gallon pool.We have over 8 acres so I have 3 of the 300 gallon stock tanks spread out so they can have their privacy and do what they want.I had a pair of bullfrogs find the one by the house this year. The other 2 were in the other parts of the yard and left alone by us,so they at least have a breeding site if they want.

No one mixed anything here. These were pools of water on his property. No different then different frogs finding there way to a vernal pool in the woods somewhere.

Also from my understanding is grey tree frogs do morph with green on them sometimes. Correct me if I'm wrong Lou.

I think she's being sarcastic/kidding...

To the OP, there are a lot of SoCal froggers, although I'm not sure how many have tree frogs...

I had no clue greys were endangered. When I used to live in northeast MD (right at the tip of the cheasapeake bay) everytime it rained the whole side of the house would be covered in them.

Neither did I.

And OK I didn't read it as sarcasm but just misunderstanding.

Most of the greys morph out bright green and grey up over time but some adults do have green on them too.I may have a pic somewhere of a young one.If I can find it I'll post it.

They are endangered in NJ,I don't know the status in the other eastern states, but that would be easy enough to look up.

it dosent mention them being endangered on the MD dnr website so if they are they dont make it well known and it looks like theres two types the grey and copes grey.

I found a couple of shots of a very young grey, the first 2 shots. The last shot which I'm sorry for the poor quality is of the 300 gallon stock tank near the house. It was blurry because I tried to get a shot of one of the bullfrogs(many times) which is the big blob on the left side on the top rim,but basically that's the habitat I leave for them to enjoy all spring and summer long.

Gray tree frogs can change colors....I had a pair for a couple years I was trying to breed. They can change the pattern of their colors based on the background they are on. From brown with green mossy colors to bright green, even bright white.

http://www.frogforum.net/content/gra...-breeding-120/

They are an amazing frog with a great personality.... They are extreamly loud and difficult at night to sleep when they get to calling.

Yes they can change color, but it bit slower than a chameleon. As for how loud they are, when there where thousands breeding in the pool we left for them, even with the windows closed you could hear them.If you went outside, you couldn't hear someone talking right next to you.I can only imagine what the neighbors thought for those few years. You can still here them calling in the yard, but nothing like when they had that much water to play in.

well... since we're running a little off topic anyway...

Greg and I found this guy out in the basin behind my house last summer. If you turn this up to the point where you can hear the fowler's toads in the background, here is an idea of how loud they are:

He was a fat little fella
