"Visions of a Cloud Forest"

1 Attachment(s)
Hello again, friends!

The vivarium is COMPLETE! Decided to make this a separate thread from my old one since this is the final product (for now). I named it "Visions of a Cloud Forest" because every single plant comes from South America, with emphasis on those that come from the cloud forests of Ecuador! All of these are low-intermediate light, cool-intermediate temperature, and high humidity.

Here are the plants imaged closer.

As an update from my last post: Things have been awesome for the most part! I obtained a second misting nozzle to ensure proper humidity and added a screen to the top vent because gnats found it. The springtails have finally taken off as well! As for the plants, been having some trouble with leaf loss on a few which worries me, but they're also growing a lot of new leaves, so I'm suspecting (and hoping) it is just due to stress from being moved. The dracula has grown a ton and so have the masdevallia! Super happy that they're doing well. The astrophora has a ton of buds too! Redid the moss mix because I screwed it up the first time by letting it dry out completely, hopefully it works this time around.

Other than that, not much is new, other than some changes to which plants are in the viv and which are not. Had to remove some due to size and space limitation. No biggie.

Thank you all for being here during this build, I adore the final result and hope it looks nice to others as well. Feel free to ask any questions about it, I will be happy to answer them!

Thanks! Not much progress on it lately, but the roots and leaves are still vibrantly green, much more than they were when I put it in there. Long as it's alive I'll be happy. That lemminghei is the dazzle of the tank; my favorite plant in there.

Looks great! I also focus on cloud forest plants and can't wait to see how your tank progresses!

So cloud forest.

You going to put a fogger in?

Nope. I thought about it because it would do so well but I haven't found a quality fogger that doesn't end up flooding the tank within the first year of use.

Also I already have 2 misting nozzles, don't wanna put too much humidity in.
