Great work! Here are some more of mine...

Here is another of the rain forest.

There were two forms of this species, Notophthalmus viridescens, had two different sexually mature forms. Neither of the two were living in the same vicinity, orange lived on the east side of the mountain with yellow on the west.

This and the following I took a few minutes ago.

Hope these are enjoyed.

I put together 12 of my favorite shots from 2012 - mostly insects but also some herps, birds, and bats. Some of you guys have been posting some really excellent stuff, I'd love your feedback and suggestions for improving in 2013. Happy new year, and I hope you enjoy: the pace of nature

Nikon PK-13 Extension Tube 27.5mm (x2)

I reckon I could approximate most of that - the only difference is I'll be using an old D80 and a SB-600.

Any chance of a pic of your handmade diffuser, as it is always the lighting that I fail with when attempting macro shots.

I'm doing a 365 day photo project, but I'm not sure if it's worth its own thread since I'm focusing more on editing and less on camera work. I am going to be also learning to use my flash, which has sadly been gathering dust for a while.

Jason, tell me about it....I just spent over 20 hours this week teaching myself photoshop through trial and error on this shot. First time using blending, and also the first time I used my new lens. Came out nice I think.

Flickr link is much larger, but still small compared to the full size/detail of this pic.

Great shot bud!

Here is an incredible sunrise I captured at Abraham Lake. I've lived here 25 years and only found out about this amazing place last month. It looks calm, but I was getting pelted in the face with tiny chards of ice flying at least 50km an hour. The good news about the wind is that it keeps the ice free of snow, allowing the frozen methane bubbles to be visible all winter long. More pics to come as I finish editing, including some closer views of the amazing ice formations. Follow my Flickr for new pics though :P

Woah, ISO 6400! How much noise reduction did you apply in processing?

Another sweet macro Shaun! I like the blurry foreground, but I wish it was just a little lower and not blocking the legs as much.

Sold my first print and figured I'd try my first self portrait to remember it!

FWIW, they're worth their weight in gold and I would highly recommend everyone get one if you can afford it. They work very well as prime lenses for portraits too.

Still a great shot regardless

Practicing more droplet refraction shots. I wish the weather was nicer so I could just go outside and find free flowers and grass though!

8 shot focus stack, using a 100mm macro, 3 extension tubes (68mm), a 1.4X converter, and a cheapo flash from above.
