Default larg viv build - please help

Hello! ok...new to dboard, but not new to vivs or pdfs. I currently have an 8ft long 125 gal viv that I cannot take with me on a move and I must build another to completely different dimensions. It will by 5 or 6 ft long and 5 ft high (2 ft. deep). I would like to use acrylic for all but the 2 front swing-opening doors which would be glass (essentially a huge acrylic exo viv). My question is this: does anyone know who I might be able to get some tips from in designing the doors and swing assembly of this concept?

Well its not to the scale that you are doing it but I used door hinges on my vertical conversion and they work great. I just gorilla glued the hinges onto the glass and acrylic.

It might not work for you due to the weight of the doors which will cause more stress on the hinges.

Sorry hopefully someone else will chim in.

Good luck

yeah, I may have to rethink this and use some kind of sliding door system, but I appreciate the ideas. I have small day geckos too, and when they breed the babies are tiny escape artists so I would like some tolerances that will allow for them and the pumilios in there.

Hello All
been on here for some time now mainly reading other forums and post, this is my first posting/reply here on dendroboard. I work for a custom aquarium manufactoring shop in Garland Tx and we use glass/acrylic hinges all the time you might check out CR Lawrence, they have branches throughout the states also outwater plastics industries catalog would be another place for that kind of stuff along with tons of other goodies for froggers. Hope this helps.

Jerry
