Default Sealing gaps

Iíve been building this vertical 10 gallon aqueon because I had the tank lying around. Iím finished now, but there are gaps at the top and bottom of the door. Anyone have any tips on trying to seal up the gaps?

Do you want it clear, or is it all right being opaque? Can you put it on any side, or does it need to remain upright?

There are probably many ways to seal the gaps, but the ways I'm thinking off off the top of my head:

1) Use spray foam of a visually tolerable color to close it, then use a sharp razor or knife to slice it away until you have it looking like you want it to look.

2) Use epoxy resin to fill it in, by putting something on the other side of it completely flat and watertight and then pour the resin into the gap until it levels out. This should make it flat on both sides, but you have to be able to move it onto a side to pour the resin.

3) Do more or less the same thing as with the epoxy resin, but with silicone or some other viscous, animal-safe substance. You may not have to turn the tank to do this, if the substance is viscous enough, but it probably won't give as smooth a result on the side you apply it to.

I've read about, but never used, SiFly strips:
I think I could turn and live with animals, they are so placid and self-contain'd.
