Default Epoxy and Sealants

Hello, I'm just wondering if there are alternatives to epoxy as a sealant, that would be considered safe? I'm in Canada, and epoxy is highly expensive here, but I would like to convert a China cabinet I have..

Thank you.

Some epoxy resins are expensive everywhere, like West System (although it's very good).

I've had some success with Flexseal products, and a similar Rustoleum product. The Flexseal spray I used worked surprisingly well. I only put one layer of it (which was reckless) on the ceiling of my wooden armoire terrarium, and water seems to just ball up and drop off of it. (Don't use it to fill cracks, though; use silicone then use the spray over it.)

This is an example of a door I sprayed said Flexseal spray on:

^Note the white bubble clusters, though. I don't know what causes that to sometimes appear; I think it has to do with the item being flat versus upright.

It runs about $20 USD, and one can was 60-70% used up by covering one of those doors. (The doors are 5 ft. tall, for reference.)

The Rustoleum product I mentioned is similar to the Flexseal paint, but it costs much less. I don't know how much less offhand, though.

Never mind, I think the spray sealant is a good bit less than $20 USD. It's the paint that was $20.
