Default Right size bulkhead for 75 gal paludarium?

Hello Dendro folks! I got my hands on a 75 gal for a song and am looking to convert it to a paludarium for semi aquatic species. As there will be a large water portion and running water feature Ive decided to avoid in internal pump setup and instead drill out and install 2 bulkheads for drain and return. I'm looking for recommendations on hole size. I first searched for the most common bulkhead types, hoping to avoid hard to find conversion parts should I have a strange diameter but have only found aquarium notes on flow rate. If it helps Im considering a sump filter beneath the enclosure with the return feeding the water feature. Ive purchased a set of glass drill bits ranging from 5/32" to 1" diameter.
Thanks!

After looking at bulkreefsupply's sizing chart I discovered a 1" bit will be too small for standard sizes. A friend with plumbing experience reccoemended going bigger since it is more easily adaptable. I am purchasing a 50mm drill bit and will use that. Unless anyone has any contrary recommendations Ill proceed as planned.

The size bulk head with definitely depend on your goals with flow rate. What pump or canister filter will you be using. A 3/4 bulkhead would be my recommendation. 35-38mm hole.

Ok cool, I actually ordered a 53mm bit, that seemed like a safe range to fit a 1.5 in PVC. I was told it is easier to make the plumbing smaller than bigger. I need to pump the return approx 3 ft up directly to the tank. Only about 1/4 of the tank is water. What size pump would be most effective for that distance and force? Assuming I'll be using 1in tubing

Thanks again!

I like the adjustability of this one. You can control flow rate without having to use a ball valve.

For just a second, there, I thought that was the most expensive bulkhead ever! That actually looks like a very flexible setup.
