Default Vivarium Electronics VE-100

I’m not sure if this is the right area for this but I was wondering if anyone has had the issue of their thermostat making a clicking sound every couple of seconds. I have the vivarium electronics VE-100 model and it worked fine for a couple of years until recently where it will constantly make clicking noises without anything changing on the screen. It doesn’t seem to be turning on or off when it clicks as the on light doesn’t turn on or off. I’ve tried to unplug it and clean the probe but it still makes the noise. Can anyone help?

I can't help with the clicking; I don't think that is a relay unit, so there shouldn't be any clicking. I don't know that triac switches make noise under any conditions. I'd be scared that it is electrical arcing, but my mind runs away with me occasionally.

When you do end up replacing it, Herpstats are much better units in the same price range. I've been replacing all my VE thermostats with Herpstats as the VE units fail (I have about 20 heating channels in the reptile room).

I’ve never heard of herpstats before. I’ll have to look into them.

It’s super weird cause my ve thermostat still works and everything. It just makes this stupid annoying clicking lol

Made in the US, repairable if necessary, and much better functionality (more alarm options, maximum output regulation, real proportional control, humidity control).
