Default 12x12x18 Viv Supplemental Lighting

I have a 13W LED bulb from Josh's Frogs in an Exo Terra hood on my 12x12x18. The lighting is covering the back well but the front needs a bit more light. I was thinking of another LED bulb but I feel like it would be too much. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm about to build an 18x18x24, and I'm torn between 2 of those (in the 18" width) or 2 jungle dawn leds in the exo terra hood. Do you think they'll be enough to reach the bottom of the taller enclosure?

2 fixtures will be fine 18 inches is a good height. Some plants may burn when you introduce new light to counter this raise the light up and slowly lower it down over a couple weeks. Most plants can take a lot more light than the hobby gives them. That said there is still an advantage to move to a wider 12 inch light of some sort as it will spread the light more evenly.

The 18 inch wide lights will be a better choice. More light spread, more light. On an 18x18x24 I prefer 3 or 4 if you are going to do the 13 w screw in type.

Thanks! Works out to be cheaper than the screw in types too.

Do you have any experience with the more dynamic led bars? I think they might be a little out of my price range for this build, but I really like the idea of being able to mimic sunrise/sunset and dynamic weather effects in the future. There's just so many options it's a little overwhelming.

Ya I have used several or worked with people who have. I know that the current usa satellite plus pro comes in a 18 inch version. A single unit is powerful enough to grow plants in an 24 inch high vivarium.

You can also try these out:

I have two 50 watts over my 24 x 18 x 24 and it gives plenty of light.
