Default Cork mosaic question

Does it matter what sort of moss you stuff between the mosaic pieces on a cork mosaic background? I've usually seen brown (presumably dead?) spaghnum moss in the examples on the forum, but I was wondering if one could use live spagnum moss (or some other kind of live moss) instead?

thanks,
GB

Yes you can use live moss. It's hoped that the sphagnum will either regrow or other plants and mosses will sprout from it which is why you usually see non live moss.

The New Zealand sphagnum moss will sprout other plants and mosses from it?

thanks,

I put live moss between my cork and driftwood. It grows really nice and normally will attach super easy. Go for it!
