People typically use Great Stuff, Handi-Foam, or Fomo. GS can be found at any hardware store for the most part. If you look down like three threads you'll see a thread I made about a foam I found at Walmart that as far as I can tell is identical to GS and about 2 bucks cheaper.

We don't color the foam, though Handi-Foam and I think Fomo come in black. Instead we coat them with silicone then put dry peat/ground coco on it, or use a mix of concrete binder, water, and peat/coco/bark... to cover it.

This is easily one of the top five most discussed topics in the Parts forum. Just looking through the past five pages or so should bring up a host of threads with any info you need on it.

The foam is called Great Stuff and is available at most hardware stores. I use the red can but there are a couple different kinds. There is also a product called Handi-Foam which is more expensive and harder to find but it is black and easier to hide.

To cover it most people use silicone with coco-fiber or peat moss pressed into it. Check the Beginners Section for some more info and look at the construction journals in the Members Frogs and Vivs section. You will find plenty of advice there. Also the search function is agreat way to find answers without asking questions that have been asked many times. Good Luck.

Edit: I guess Mike types faster than me.
