Default Increase food items after pumilio breeding confirmed?

Not sure if this is in the right subforum, but here goes...

I found a tad in my pumilio Blue Jeans tank yesterday evening. Was quite accidental, as I try to feed them, mist and generally don't disturb them. Was looking into one of the broms up higher in the tank, and swore I saw a wiggle that wasn't a FF. Looked closer with a flashlight, and about sh!t the bed, because I saw a tad beeboppin' around in there.

If it's confirmed that there is breeding going on in a pumilio tank, is it advisable to increase the number of FF's you are feeding? Was curious if the females require added nutrition to produce feeder eggs. I have already been in the habit of blowing extra springtails in my BJ viv every week. I put in enough so that I can visually see them where I lift a leaf or inspect the glass below the litter level.

Am pretty new to the hobby and new to pum's. Would appreciate any input. Thanks!

no, keep your feeding as is, dont change anything, they will not eat more just because you feed more.

Start ramping up your microfauna production. Most Pumilio morph very small and may not be able to eat fruit flies for a while. You are going to want to have plenty of springtails on hand.
ChrisK, frogs are cool and Nismo95 like this.

Yeah I would also recommend dwarf gray and/or dwarf purple isopods - I actually raise Escudo froglets in the parent tank with nothing seeded but dwarf grays, I wouldn't recommend doing only this though unless you have a well seeded tank with a self sustaining population of the isopods, but I think they might be more nutritionally complete since I raised many healthy froglets that many board members on here got from me on them, for your first go around though you should definitely be breeding tons of springtails as well as the isopods just to make sure.

Thank you for the additional replies. Have been splitting springtail cultures and recently purchased a mega culture of purple iso's from Julio. Been making it a routine duty to blow extra spring's into the BJ's viv every week. Still see at least three tad's in the brom's and have decided not to snoop around very much any more.

Increasing the food availability doesn't mean that it will translate over into healthier froglets or better care for those deposited as it typically ends up translating into more egg clutches for fertilization which is not how the documented natural behaviors populations for these frogs occurs......

The increased fertile egg deposition can actually reduce nutrients available to the tadpoles as the female only deposits feeder eggs every few days and not a lot of them at anyone time while egg clutches for fertilization are large and are triggered by available fat reserves not whether or not sufficient vitamins, or carotenoids are available to the female for proper provisioning......
