Default Oophaga pumilio "Siquirres" 2013 CR CB Imports

I'll post pics as I take them.

I need to get pics of some of their bellies, some have red bellies, some molted red/blue, and others are almost all blue. Fairly variable from the ones that came in, some more spotting then others. The next shipment has a really cool looking one included.

In the past I am sure it would have been sold as a blue jeans, but blue jeans can be found in many different areas. Siquirres is a better name.

I should stress that these are LOCALE SPECIFIC O. pumilio. They should not be mixed with other black/blue jean stock, but can be mixed with other Siquirres I may offer in the future, unless said otherwise. From what we know, these appear to be different from previously imported stock and should be treated as such. The problem with previous imports of similar frogs is most do not have locality data, while these specimens do.

I wouldn't call that a "problem," per se, as doing so tends to make people think that frogs without GPS-specific locality data are less valuable than those with extremely site-specific info. Unless you're planning on managing/breeding these for reintroduction purposes, the info (or lack thereof) doesn't change the intrinsic value of the frog.

As has been said, it's helpful for captive management purposes and for the personal interest/mental contentment of the hobbyist...but previous imports shouldn't be considered any less valuable. Actually, I would say some of the older imports could be argued as being MORE valuable as the skills and commitment of those hobbyists have enabled those frogs to remain in the hobby without a continual source of those types of frogs. They are an important part of the hobby that often seem to get waxed over with every flashy new importation of frogs.

I agree, not a problem to me.

Pics of a extra dark legged female I keeping from the shipment. May not be the prettiest on top, but look at that belly! I can't wait to see what comes in on the next shipment.

Photo is taken under 6500k lighting with no flash using my cell phone (camera broken).

I am the supplier of these and ship worldwide. Though, it's not always the cheapest thing to do.
