I live in NYC, and I agree, I am very lucky to have such good friends in the hobby... I believe these guys are ready to breed if not already... They are sneaky about breeding, but bold as heck... They never run when I take pictures, and after a long hatius of hiding out, are out all the time now..

Its funny, because when they were first offered to me, I was'nt going to take them. But they were so beautiful, I bought them... When I got them home,
they The Red Frog Beach Basti are what really made me insane about pums.. So I am grateful to them for that and thats what makes them so dear to me.

Man your lucky, and apparently safe, too. There is no way I'll make it to NYC for washington, I'm a horrible navigator and with my luck, I'll end up in Mexico before I reach New York...

I second what Stu says, we need more pics! They are beautiful frog and your very lucky to have a pair. Maybe in the future you can make this morph more accessible to the public through breeding

If you don't want to go through the hassle of drilling them yourself, a few of our sponsors have they available with the suction cup already attached. I know josh's frogs and glass box have them.

sir John,(sorry about the constant sir's ,it's the only way to differentiate whom i'm talking to). Could you please outline vit regime, diet, colour (enchancing) supps, anything really that could have an effect on colour. We also keep RFB,i'm chuffed to bits(ha ha) with what we have bred so far and very pleased with their colour, but there is always room for one to be better and make improvements in one's care. So it's got to be worth asking a keeper with such vibrant colour showing on their frogs,if there is anything other than genetics at play.

Thanks for the extra pics, love 'em!! All the luck with getting them breeding, aswell. I'm sure you will be overun with folks whom would like to keep offspring of this pair

good luck

I really don't give them any color enhancers... I dust the flies with Calcium and Multivitamins, and once a month straight Vit A (sometimes twice ), and rarely I will put a touch of super pig in with the calcium, but I mean rarely... Very healthy and active, calling all day long... Bold, and yes very colorful...I was just very fotunate to get such nice specimens.. Hopefully soon I can share them... Thanks for the nice words...

You're utterly welcome and thanks for the insight into your care, John. Our regime is similar maybe a bit more superpig. John we also mix superpig at 5% into our bug burger and place this in viv. This seems to have had some effect on the colour of our offspring, but it's really difficult to be sure on that comment. I'll be utterly fascinated to see what this pair produce and how their colour measures up to that of their parents, please post pictures when they get going

all the luck with them

Well finally after doing and trying so many things, I got a baby... So far just one, but I think the group has found its mojo and heirarchy... I have since seen the females feeding tads in the broms, so I should see more... Their tank is difficult to see as these guys are really sneaky... Here is what a RFB basti baby looks like...Enjoy!!

(Sir) John, the biggest grats a man could throw at someone.

Fascinating, especially for me, to see these pictures. I have never seen just morphed RFB kids before other than our own bred here. The blue in the legs is exactly what I see aswell. I've always wondered if this is a morph trait often seen in these froglets,I see it so much across our group. But without seeing others who knows. I know this doesn't mean it's applicable across the board, but I do find it fascinating nonetheless.I remember our first froglet,it looked more like what I would expect an escudo to look like, than a bright red/orange frog's offspring, I was utterly perplexed by it at the time.

Awesome keep going kiddo all the luck in the world.

Judy thanks for that like,i'm sure you did that to bring me here John watching these develop is seriously interesting to me having such a vested interest in this morph,I might be reading between the lines, but I suspect Judy knows that. Never having been able to see another breeder's pictures and results and now to be able is very special. thanks so much for sharing,ha and for the awesome photographs, what a joy!!!!!

best
