Default I build native plant terrariums

Hi. My name is Karyl. I don't have frogs. I build native plant terrariums. I joined this group because I was looking to buy springtail cultures. I know I can purchase them on eBay but I have found that when you want a niche item, seek the enthusiasts. That would be frog people.

However since I am new I am not allowed access to the marketplace. I have nothing to sell, never will, I only want to find out if anyone here sells springtails. Is that okay?

but I've read trough some of the threads and now I want frogs.
Lucano and macg like this.

Hi there! Lots of folks sell springtails here. Possibly some in your area that you could pick up locally. If you indicate a city or general area in which you could pick them up, someone with some available near you may reply.

In general, there are tons of places to buy them online, but I'll give folks on the forum a chance to respond with their own before i link out of here.

Also, have you found any native springtails establishing populations in you tanks? This is extremely common in mine, and the variety is interesting.

Read through the agreement you "signed" to join and you'll see how long it will be before you can see Classifieds.

FYI - where it says 25 posts needed - is now 10 posts. Don't be in a hurry posting though as an amount of time has to go by as well.

Welcome to the Board.

I was going to purchase a culture on ebay but decided to check here first.

Yes I have native springtails in my tanks. I've always collected my own. I know that's supposed to be more difficult but I live in the woods and am a nature person with a background in biology. I know how to find them. I can turn over a log, find a slew, cultivate them for a month and have enough.

However I've never grown cultures because I've never needed as many as I do now. Lately I've had several requests for my terrariums so need more springtails than I can find quickly. Time to start and maintain cultures. I am in GA, north of ATL.

I can easily purchase online but would rather support the enthusiast. I also do aquascaping, so understand the enthusiast is the way to go for many things.

Frog-specific website vendors often sell cultures, such as Josh's Frogs or NE Herp. As far as I'm aware, those are pretty well-liked places for these!
