Default Hello from Spokane Washington

I am new to dart frogs. Still don’t have any. I have turned one of my saltwater tanks into a vivarium. I have a 75 gallon tank with 10 bromeliads, lots of cork tubes and mopani wood. I have recently started culturing a few types of isopods. I have been looking to get frogs that have more than one color for a particular local. I have seen some stunning pictures of Charco La Pava. It appears females are hard to find though. What are some other frogs that have multiple colors for the same local?

I’m also from the Spokane area, but don’t have dart frogs, some other amphibians, millipedes and isopods.

You could check with Josh at Hawley’s Homebred Reptiles in Spokane Valley. He’s good at accessing critters.

Welcome to the forum. Many frogs have a nice variety of phenotypes within their species and locales, some more pronounced than others. Some of the greatest variation you will find in dart frogs is within some of the locales of Ophaga pumilio.

I put a deposit down on a stunning Charco La Pava frog. When it’s more favorable for shipping I will get him. Then the hunt for a female begins. Most likely I will have to buy a group of froglets.
