Default Indiana frog folks

Hey all.

Thought I'd lay my first post here instead of on the main newbie thread highway. New to the hobby, loving it, and looking for frog folks in the state of Indiana. Been lurking for a few days and reading a metric crap-ton of information here, as I gather one should before seriously posting. DendroBoard is really fantastic, a wealth of knowledge. Reading what's here, you can tell you're standing on the shoulders of giants who have gotten in there and figured out much just by blood, sweat and tears. Hats off to you, you old-guard froggers.

That said, I was noticing a lack of Indiana posts in the MidWest section here, and would like to e-meet any serious PDF hobbyists and breeders in my area, i.e., within 100 mile radius. I guess that would include parts of western Ohio, and maybe southern Michigan, not just Indiana. Would be nice to be able to drive to get frogs, instead of having them shipped.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm not quite at the stage where I need to purchase frogs as yet although I most certainly will. I just wanted to make my presence known and to try to get a feel for serious froggers in my area, with the perhaps naive hope that a relatively local frogger group could be established, even three or four people. Eventual get-togethers, swapping, buying, selling, general comraderie and whatnot. I don't want to drive to Chicago or Columbus at first if it can be avoided. Plus, people here look at me weird when I say I'm seriously getting into PDFs.

In the meantime, I will continue learning and lurking, and lurking some more.

Also, where are the Indianapolis people here? Huge city (12th largest in US), so I would wager somebody there keeps dendros.

EpiBillobates (elmoisfive) keeps enough darts for the whole state of Indiana (he is in Indy). That's why there are so few other keepers. :P

That doesn't seem to be a reason for there to be no other keepers. Nevertheless, thanks for the heads up. Always looking.

I'm from Richmond.

I do not yet keep PDF's, though I most likely will.

Are you going to the Midwest Reptile Show on June 29th?

I like going to Chicago but with gas prices it would be nice to have some closer places to talk frogs.

Exactly my thought. A local group would be sweet.

You are welcome to come up to michigan... We are having our little group meeting July 12 at my house, which is about 3 hours from Fort Wayne. Southeast of Lansing. We often meet in southeast michigan, sometimes farther away.

Quite a few PDF keepers in the Indy area but most don't come to the DB except rarely or not at all.

I'm in Indianapolis...only have 2 azureus, so I don't know if I qualify as a "keeper" though...don't really know of anyone other than those few on the board that are in the area.

I live in Auburn. I have four leucs in one tank and 3 vents in another. Just got them at the NAAC show in MA. I highly recommend either frog for a starter. My frogs are always out and they're fun to watch, especially when feeding them fruit flies.

I'm in Batesville (near greensburg). Small little town, and I'd be surprised if I wasn't the only person into PDF's, ha. I would also like it if there was a group of people around here who we could trade, talk, etc etc...about darts with.
