Default First tank!

Hello!
So this is my first post here, ny name is Sebastian and Im from Sweden.
This is my first tank for PDFs ever, the viv is 60x40x60cm LWH.
The "root" in the middle is built up by using some driftwood and GS, coco fiber, with a waterfall built in and it also serves as a hideout since the frogs can hide behind it.
The plantlist:
Ficus pumila
N.fireball
N.anteia
N.ampullacea tigrina
Java moss
Some other mosses
Some type of ferns aswell, dont know the name of it.
Tillandsia
Nepenthes alata, not sure if its gonna stay in there.
Phalaenopsis hybrid, mini
Im also waiting for 2x N.red waif.

Some pictures.

Full shoot of the tank.

Showing the waterfall.

Orchid,nepenthes.

The hideout under the "root"

The waterarea.

Top of the tank.

Temperature are around 23-26 degrees celcius or about 73-78 fahrenheit.
So Im thinking about R.ventrimaculata, its the species I like the most.
As I said this is my first PDF tank ever so any input would be appreciated.
And my english aint the best..
/ Sebastian

Got the new broms today so Id put those in now and Ive also added springtails in the viv.
I love the colors on the red waif and also my fireball is starting too get some red back on it after loosing nearly all color when I first got it.
Now Im gonna let it grow in for a month or so before adding frogs too it.
Is there any suggestions on something I should change in the viv?
Any feedback would be great!
Tanks nburns! =)

Full tank shoot.

Top of the viv.

Red waif, love the coloration.

The second brom, dont know which one it is.

Awesome tank, this is very nice, especially for a first vivarium.

Beautiful tank. Did you take pictures during the build? I'd love to see how you built the middle piece with the GS and driftwood.

Thanks guys!
I know I did take some pictures of the construction, but it seems like Ive deleted them, cant find them anywhere..
The big root consists of six pieces of driftwood, which I put together in a appealing look, so they were siting like they are know which gave me a quite big hole in between them, i just filled that up with gs pretty much, and then carved etc.. But I will have an extralook for the pictures tomorrow and see if I can find some.

Nice. I was thinking about doing the exact same thing for a 35 gallon hex I'm building. Using PVC pipe and ghostwood to make the structure and filling the gaps with GS foam.

Love the hardscaping! That nepenthes will get FAR too large for that viv though, you will eventually ( maybe by next year) remove it, or constantly prune it, which will mean you will never see the upper pitchers of it, which are often the most spectacular. N. alata is easy enough to grow that you could put it in a windowsill and it would thrive though, so its definitely not a lost cause

Thanks everyone! I dont know when I'm gonna start the next build, gonna this one 100% done first and get some frogs, I do however have a tank thats gonna be the next one, but I guess it will take a few months.
Yeah, I figured the nepenthes would outgrow it.. So I'm considering remove it now and replace it with some other plants, any suggestions?
I will design a friends viv in short while, and I will use the same method in that viv.
Thanks again!!

So I thought it was time for an update on the viv. Had some remodeling done in it, took out the fern at the left side and replaced it with a wonderful piece of driftwood my friend didnt want anymore. Switched place on a N.anteia and also added a new orchid, since the first one got attacked by snails, I think Ive got them all away now..
The Ficus pumila is taking over the viv on the right side now.
The N.fireball is getting its coloring back aswell..
Some pictures.

Full tank shot.

Orchid plus the new driftwood and a pitcher from the Nepentes.

N.fireball

Ficus pumila on the way up.

Any suggestions,feeback etc is appreciated.

Sebastian

The only suggestion I have is to elevate the orchids so that they won't rot next to the waterfall. Also, water on the orchid petals can make undesirable brown spotting.
Other than that, it is very cool, especially for your first shot at this!
