Good start

do you have a glass top?
how hot does it get in there?
Maybe some pothos or creeping oak to spread up the sides? or some tilly's....

is that screen on top or glass? if screen you will want to cover it with glass.

try moving the bromilead up higher on the background to keep it from rotting

Atm it has a screen top might be worth looking at getting some glass cut.

wish i could give you some temp readings but im still waiting for the bulb to arrive in the post.
Unfortunately the bromeliad is quite big and with the long stem i wasnt sure if i could fit it anywhere else. i'll see what i can sort out...
atm i have some purple inch plant, cutting pothos and a variegated heart leaf plant which i hope will establish themselves in a couple of months.
thanks for the tips so far
dan

the tank is the exo terra 45-45-65 (H). ive added some leaf litter now and just added some purple heart foliage plant which looks quite good, temp is averaging out at mid 70's with humidity around 83%

definitely get a piece of glass cut to put on top of the screen. Your tank won't hold its humidity without it.

Otherwise it's a pretty good first tank!

Hello again, i opened the tank this afternoon after many days of leaving it alone and i think i might of smelt a bit of the chemicals i used for the construction of the interior.
its not a particularly strong smell but if i put my noise right against the wall i can smell it. How worried should i be of this??? thanks
