Default Bakhuis Pics

Just spent some time looking at the amazing photos people on here have of their frogs.
I thought I'd add my own. Taken with a point and click Cannon Ixus 80. I'd love to get a DSLR, but would i need to know all the ins and outs of exposures etc, (the technical side of photography) to get the benefit out of it?

Nice. My only suggestion would be to turn the flash off. And really have the room lit up.

Yes I think you're right, it might get rid of the washed out effect, unfortunately I tried it a few times and it slows the shutter speed right down so the photos end up shakey. Maybe a tripod would be a better 1st investment.

Great looking frogs!
Are their legs really that light blue in person, or is it because of the flash? I'm asking because the legs on mine are very dark blue.

Thanks. I'd say the photos are fairly accurate, the legs are pretty much as you see, give or take.
