Default 40g Tadpole Riparium

This is the focal point for a new exhibit at work. It is a 40g sea clear with riparium planters attached to the back. I strayed a bit from the full riparium by making a rock waterfall spring like creation to hide my reptifilter. This set up is for a Frog Life Cycle exhibit that is in the works and it has native plant species, american toad tads and green frog tads, some snails, diving beatles, and a few other things that cam along of the ride. So check it out let me know what you think. Thanks for inspiration hydrophyte

"The whole concept of a riparium is that you are simulating the bank of a riverbed or pond, without actually creating any physical dry ground (that would be a paludarium). So you get to grow your aquatic plants emersed in hanging planters, which means they grow much faster. Not only that, but aquatic plants often have very different forms when grown emersed, which means you often get completely different leaf shapes, growth patterns, and even flowers!"

Thanks everyone... this riparium is designed to mimic an Applachian Mountain wetland area. Specifically the mountain top wetlands. We currently have the Am. Toads and Green Frog tads swimming around in there; the greens have popped their back legs already. Once they are ready to come out of the water they are released back into the wild. Currently I have sensitive fern, blue berries, sphagnum, ciniomn fern(?), sedges, lilly pads, reed stalks, cotton tail, and at the monent I cant remember what other plants.

This is beautiful...fantastic job!

What are those strange plastic/rubber/foam things attached to the cups in the first 3 photos?

Those are trellis rafts that float on the water so that the plants can creep put on to them. I covered them in moss to give it a bog edge feel of floating sphagnum mats.
