Default Isla Colon's - at last!

After waiting more than six months I finally picked up my colon's today! They are in the vert and nailing springtails like you wouldn't believe. Any worries I had about them not using the full height of the viv were dispelled in about 5 mins flat when all four were 'up top' exploring. These four are four months old and I'm amazed at just how small they are - small in stature but bold in personality - well at least three are - one has headed for the hills (well a large brom actually and got his/her head down).

Here are a few quick shots for the time being. Once they've settled I'll post some decent ones.

One of the little ones in its travelling box.

In the viv

Just to show just how small these are - can you see me?

Plus a big thank you to JP (MonarchzMan) and Mark (Pigface) for their knowledge of pumilio habitats.

Regards
Marcus

They are from a breeding group that Mark from the UK company 'Dartfrog' has. He has some pretty outstanding darts and I've purchased quite a few from him. I've always had good, healthy frogs from Mark and have no problem recommending his company to anyone in the UK.

Marcus

They look great! What's the orchid in the last pic? Some kind of Bulbophyllum?

Hi Jason
it's actually Dendrobium aggregatum - it's doing really well up at the top of the viv too. I've divided some of the psudo bulbs and planted them top to bottom to see if the slightly cooler temps (72f as opposed to 82f) and more shade have any effect.

Regards
Marcus

Congrats mate...

They look stunning, and the last pic shows how surprisingly tiny they actually are.

Pfft your complaining about a 6month wait, try like over a year haha.

Im just jealous :P

Hi Chris,

here's a FTS

and a link to the thread on construction, growing in etc.

Hope they do start calling soon! They really are frogs with personality!

Here's a couple more shots I got this morning.

Wow nice grab. I'd love to get some pums but they're just a bit too much on the expensive side, but I'll be sure to pick up some bastis or isla colons when the price is right.
