Default First Viv/Plant trouble

Hey everyone,

New to Darts but like most i've been stalking here for a while... I put together a viv about a month ago and everything has been running smooth but my cryptocoryne lucens marginal plant hasn't been doing very well. For lighting i've been using daylight 6500k and to get some heat into the viv I have used a 60W Verilux UV tanning light... The Crypto has been in the same condition for a while now with some leaves dead, and the green leaves are alive but a little on the limp side. Temperatures are mid to upper 70's, and humidity is hovering around 80% (if anybody has any idea how to get humidity higher I'd be open to suggestions, It has a full glass top with two water features (drip wall and waterfall) and regular misting. But anyways here is a picture of the crypto and a couple full tank shots. Hopefully I will be putting in a group of 3 green and bronze auratus come spring time... Montana is to cold to ship this time of year.

Thanks in advance for help

-Jake

as for the crypt i know its a true aquatic plant, but it looks fine to me, if thats a new set up it may take a little while to establish and get growing good. as for the 6500 k light that is the same thing i am using on top of one of my tanks and above all of my plants outside of my tanks. dont know anything about that heat light you are talkin about but you might be fine without it, as long as your tank stays above 70 you should be fine. and 80% humidity is fine. one way to get your humidity higher is hooking up a ultra sonic humidifier to the tank, search the board theres a diy on how to do that.

Nice setup, I would consider putting the crypt in deeper water.

Big plant suppliers such as tropica grow their crypts out of water (emersed)

When these are then bought and put into aquariums, the emersed form dies off, leaves melt away etc, and changes to its underwater form (immersed?)

In your case it may be the opposite, did you buy this from an aquarium store, out of a tank?

If so it might just be changing to its out of water form, it will/should bounce back with time.

I bought it from Black Jungle, hopefully, like you said it will pull itself through... thanks for the responses.
