Default 10 Gal Vert Construction

So I was bored and had an extra 10 gal layin around and decided to make a vert viv out of it. Right now Im just keeping plants in it but some day I mite get some thumbs for it. Still need to get a couple small broms for the drift wood and maybe a small plant for the floor; oh and install my front door!
There are fly traps in the top left, starling ivy, and a Cryptanthus "Pink Star". What do ya think?

that vft is probably not going to do to well way up on the top of the wall. vft like very moist soil, to water them you really need to use RO, or rain water because of the lack of minerals. also vfts need a dormant cold period to survive and to thrive, if you dont give them a dormancy period they will end up dieing.

I keep the peat and sphagnum mix its in very most not soaked but it never dries. As far as the dormant period I guess well just have to see how it goes. And I have been using filtered water on it is that ok?

yeah as long as the plant is not drying out it should be fine but these plants like it more on the wet side, as for using filtered water, it depends on what kind of filter it is i guess, or what all it removes from the water. because carnivorous plants get all there nutrients from the bugs that they eat, they do not get nutrients from the soil like normal plants, too much minerals in the water used to water the plant will eventually kill the plant. about the only thing i would suggest about dormancy for the plant would be to remove it from the tank ever fall, plant it back in a pot, seal it in a plastic bag and put it in your refrigerator for about 3 months then you would be able to put it back in the tank, it will be alot of work but it will be the only way it will survive and thrive. another alternative to water is to use distilled water, its not too expensive.

Good advice Ill have to remember to remove it if it makes it that long. I use a PUR filter for all my water is that good or should I go to distilled?

looks great. I always found 10 gal verts where hard to work with because of the limited space but you did a great job. I have only used 10 in the past because I had so many when i was raising baby african chiclids.
