Default First half of new rack

I always enjoy seeing pics of other people's vivs, so I figured I would post a few of mine. I just finished these three for a rack I'm setting up. All 3 are 10 gallon tanks with vertical conversion kits. I'm still not done planting, but I have no idea what I want to put in there. I figured I'd wait and see how I feel about in a couple weeks. If you've got any suggestions on plants, let me know.

As far as inhabitants, I'm planning on the following: D. Imitator "Intermedius", D. Auratus, and one RETF.

I've also got a breeding pair of Azureus, so I'll post a few pics of them when I get a chance.

Very nice, what kind of moss is that? a nice creeping plant in the background would look great.

Nice looking tanks. The moss is nice and looks great. I would suggest imi's/intermedius, with added leaf liter. The leaf liter helps micro fauna like springtails flourish. For the imis/intermedius look at your broms and see if they hold water they can use to deposit tads if you want them to tank raise them.
As far as auratus, it is recommended to go no smaller than a 10 gallon horizontal.
No experience with RETF.

Thanks!

The moss is "pillow moss", Dicranum species I believe. I got it from AZDR and it is wonderful.

That's a great idea, Devanny. I might see what I can find locally, otherwise I'll need to order some. I really like the fern panels because it's makes it so much easier to attach plants to them.

Thanks Phyllobater.

When I got the moss I was told it was a Dicranum species, Tropical Pillow Moss.

How do you attach your plants to the fern panels? i just set up a small vert tank with fern panels and I am stumped about that part.

You're right, some leaf litter would probably look nice in one of them. I'm probably only to get one Intermedius right now, but you never know what the future holds. I've already got the breeding pair of Azureus, so that's about as many tads as I want right now.

On the Auratus, does it matter which morph on the 10 vert? I was looking at getting a Nicaraguan morph.

I used plastic ties and weaved them into the fern, then secured the broms with sphagnum moss around them to keep moisture around the roots.

No, there's actually a small piece of glass that acts a stop for the glass door. The kits are the ones sold by Dane on this forum and they work really well.

If you're checking out this thread Dane, the kits worked perfectly!

Thanks! It's always good to hear. The tanks look really nice, and I'm sure they'll fill in great.

Oh, I see. So if your(my) fern panels are already siliconed up you're(I'm) kind of s.o.l. for that method.

Possibly. If there are any open areas in the panel you could still attach them in those areas. Otherwise, yeah you might be out of luck.

you could make your own staples out of bonsai wire to fit your needs then take them away once the broms root in well enough
