Default The 29 Gallon Vent Viv

Instead of posting all my growth and frog updates in my CONSTRUCTION JOURNAL, I will make it less cluttered by posting in here.

I have 5 ventrimaculatus that I purchased Jan 3rd, 2009 at the LA reptile expo.

Here is a progression of the tank.

Shortly after planting.

Installed fan, couple of the broms lost color.

After frogs, some new moss on the ground, new palm-ish plant (id plz?), and moving some plants.

I liked the ground moss so much I bought more, riccia on the waterfall, anubias in the pond, middle brom (n. superball) moved up. (sorry about the underexposure...)

Finished off covering the bottom with the moss, a bit of riccia growth, superball responding really well to being moved up.

I'd like this one a lot more without the glare, but the color of the wood is cool.

I just like this one

Very nice! But I have to ask... where did you get the moss? what kind of moss is it? I love the look of moss but can NEVER get it to grow...

I actually have no idea what kind of moss it is. One of the guys at LLL Reptile (around the corner from me) showed it to me. He said they had just gotten it in and all the employees were stoked on it. Maybe we could get an ID on that. From what I've read, moss needs regular misting with good drainage to thrive. My lighting may also play a part in that as I have 130 watts of light on the tank.

Looks great. My broms all responded well to getting closer to the lights.

I got the same moss from LLL Reptile and it is really nice and thin...
I think its a form of sheet moss to be honest... I have some dormant
that i recently got elsewhere pretty similar but theirs is definitely nicer
