Default new 45 gal for mancreeks

I finally started building a new tank for my mancreeks. It's still in progress but this is what I've got so far.

Now for some questions, lol...
This is the first time I've tried using Hoya, does it do well on backgrounds? Does it stay relatively flat to the background? What are some other good background vines? I don't really wanna use creeping fig, I have it in my 75 gal and I think it would be too much of a pain to try and control in this.

And of course, I appreciate any constructive criticism or questions.

Looks great so far, a little bit more litter would be nice tho.
As far as other background vines you can try oak leaf creeping fig...it grows slower and looks really nice.
What kind of wood is that?

Thanks Devanny. Yeah it's definitely getting some more leaf litter, that was just the last I had left for now. It's time to stock up my supplies again, lol. I'll look into the oak leaf creeping fig. As for the driftwood, I'm not sure what kind they are. The small one on the right is a peice form Joshsfrogs, when the foam expanded it angled it down a little more than I wanted. The long diagonal one is just one I've had for a long time and never used.

It's hard to tell but it looks like your Hoya is maybe curtisii. It should do well and may attach itself and begin to crawl on the background. You can help it along by pining some of the stems to the background instead of allowing it all to be hanging. I you have H serpens it should be the same. They both are appoximately the same size.

If you are buying plants from someone specializing in viv and terrarium plants you should not hesitate to ask them these types of questions.

Thanks for the input Harry. Yeah it's hoya curtisii, I bought one of those big baskets spur of the moment during one of my trips to home depot. I'll try pinning it like you said, and maybe put some more in there too.

Sean, it should do well. I had some in a terrarium and paid it no attention and barely watered it and it thrived. Many of the small Hoya make excellent terrarium plants. I have H retusa growing all over a terrarium. It loves it. It really likes to climb and cling also. H serpens is another good choice.

Figured I'd post some update shots of this just for the heck of it since I was talking about it in another thread.

Last night I put the mancreeks in and got a few quick shots of them exploring today. Sorry about the condensation, but I didn't want to wipe everything down and stress them.

(yes the camera is a pinkish color, it's my wife's. lol)

Been following him around all morning

Looking for a way out? lol

Awesome Sean! Hopefully those broms will be chock-a-block full of tads in no time and the male taking up backpacking and yodelling.

Nice pics...especially the group shots.

Thanks Doug, these guys are pretty good breeders so hopefully there will be some tads soon.

I'll be sure to keep an eye out for aggression Julio. So far so good, but then again it's only been a day, lol.

Thanks, I found two more clutches the next day . These guys are pretty bold. They don't really run or hide when I come up to the tank or anything. The male has no problem calling with me standing there watching.

Backpacker shots soon to follow ...eh?

Congrats on the quick stimulus to breed. They simply couldn't find each other or a place to lay in the ole set-up. haha
