Default Lids???

I am having trouble finding a lid for my 29 gallon tank that is secure. I have a lid that slides into place for my corn snake and it has a spot to lock it. I am looking for something like that. I have cats and a 4 year old and cant take the chance.

I have had really good luck taking the aquarium to the local glass shop and the veteran glass cutter comes out and measures everything himself for a perfect fit. For my 20 gallon longs I had them cut the top into three sections and it was 1/4 inch think glass, so it is quite strong.

Might not be an option for you, but just in case.

Your probably just going to have to mount a hasp on the lid. You can find acrylic hasps at a few of the sponsors of the site.

Hey Rachael,

I have similar needs here's what I do. Use a versa top or have glass cut. Put my vent on (optional) with silicone. Silicone or packing tape the back piece of glass to tank rim.
Add an acrylic hasp set and small pad lock.

Keeps out sticking fingers and nosey noses.

My son really dosen't mess with the frog tanks but, when I had planted aquarium going Thomas the Tank engine always made it in there. "Oh no, cinders and ashes"!
