Default Do Tincs use verticle space.......

Yes they do!!

Here's a few new river tincs enjoying the high life. One is at the very top of the background on it's favorite ledge, and the other is at the top of highest buttress root on my fake concrete & fortifier tree. Sorry the first pic is through glass.

Yeah I find my male at the top of the tank alot. Watching him climb a vertical wall is quite fascinating.

My azureus would always sleep halfway up the background in the one tank I had her in before.

I think I'm gonna have to agree with you guys! One of my patricias has taken a liking to sitting on top of my orchid halfway up the viv. Kinda like his little pride rock where he can see the whole viv and keep an eye on things. My other one seems to be a little spaz and cand decide on a personal favorite. I find it hopping around on the moss at the bottom to sitting in the highest bromeliad at the very top of the viv.

I think for most tanks (36" tall or less) the "vertical" space is still really terrestrial.

Do you see the azureus in this terrarium chillin on the branch?

When I had citronellas they wwould manage to squeeze themselves between the top of the background and the lid to sleep at night. This wa a 30g cube tank so it had decent height

yeah, i think that if you give any frog, even the larger terrestrial types, they will utilize the vertical space.

I find tincs kept in my 18cube exos tend to use more of the verticle space than the tincs in the 18x18x24's. In fact I have a few azureus pairs in the taller exos and they tend to prefer the lower portions of the viv. I have two 2.1.0 cit trios in which one group stays near the lower end of the taller exos, where the other group uses utilizes the entire viv.

To add to this as a side, my standard luec groups in the taller exos prefer the lower portions where the BG luec groups utilize their entire enclosures. I have a few glac tanks and both morph, I have yellow and red all like to sleep at the upper parts of the tanks.

My Azureus pair both use the entire tank (29g). About twice a week one, or both of them, will sleep as high in the tank as they can get. It's usually the male, so I always figured the female kicked him out of the coco hut, but sometimes the female sleeps up there too.

Im sorry the pic is from my bad camera, but it seems my male cobalt is always at the top of the tank. It's really funny to watch him jump 6 inches straight up onto the background.
