Default Two Skyscrapers

Yesterday I got two skyscraper vivs to fill in the space I had envisioned a single diy 120 gal pvc viv going. Both are the new Exo-Terras that are just coming out to match the Zoomed Paludariums. One is 18x18x36 and the other a 36x18x36. Although I had to scrap my previous project, I am very excited to get these guys going!

In the 18x18x36 I am going to house 4 Mantella Baronis that I have had in quarantine for almost a month. The other viv I have no idea what it will house. Iíd like to keep some bold frogs in there whose calls will not drive the family nuts (vivs are in family room). Iím not looking to pull tads, or breed or anything like that. I would like to have at least a drip wall in there, so I am researching best methods.

Hereís the obligatory first pic. Iíll post some more of the progress I make tomorrow.

That Grape wood is going to mold and break down quick. I would have went with something like manzanita or ghostwood. Ive never used grape wood just going off of what other people said.

I knew they were not as strong as others but did not know they would quickly mold & break down. Thought Iíd have about a year and since I had a credit at the place, figured it was better than nothing. :/

Default Two Skyscrapers

Not done by a long shot but getting there. CUC went in this past week. Plants, different mosses & leaf litter come in this upcoming week. Iím also still working on the moss drip wall on the right side of the 18X18X36 and some sort of water feature on the 36X18X36.

That is a very imaginative use for the stock background.

One finished and other one is almost there. Iíll be adding more leaf litter to both tomorrow. Didnít realize it took so much work to gather, clean, and sanitize it!

I like the rocks in the front of the wider one. I feel like a lot of terrariums neglect that part of the scape.

Default Two Skyscrapers

Thanks! Both of the vivs now have matching fronts. It was driving me crazy that one was different, as I am one of those weird people that needs symmetry in everything, so I changed it and made them both the same. Was going to make the smaller one a palludarium with some fancy guppies, but thought better of it. Decided not to further complicate my life. HA! As if...

And I agree with you Solo. I donít care for the gravel bottom or the hygroton showing and the false bottom just looks odd if itís not covered, so I took the background that came with the smaller viv and I sliced a piece off it and put it in the front to cover my false bottom. I then needed to make sure the ABG didnít sneak down there somehow so that is when I got the idea to line the front up with rocks.

Added a small pond with flowing water on the right side in the large viv.
