Default Ranitomeya reticulata 'standard' - New residents

Well, the UE order came in today and I thought I would share a couple of craptacular phone pics of the new residents in the living room. They are cute as a button and very red (as opposed to orange which the photos make them look). I got four of them and they are in a Skyscraper (18x18x36). I sure hope I see them often as I have devoted a prime spot to their new tank :-) They were shipped really well and they appear to be extremely healthy.

Enjoy,

Mark

Ok...
To be honest, this is not my favorite tank yet. And this isn't even a good picture of it. This is an experiment in some ways. I wanted to see what I could do with the background that came with the Skyscraper. I tried to dress it up a little by gluing some ledges, etc. I also intentionally left it a bit minimal because I wanted to see how it grows in. Almost all of the plants were cuttings and stuff I had lying around in other tanks. The bleaching process was hard on some of them :-) I am also a bit unhappy with the use of the negative space toward the front, but I am waiting to see how it pans out. It has only been set up for a couple of months. It is, however, well suited for the occupants. They seem happy. It's hard to see, but there is a wee lad up in the top left corner sitting on the plastic ledge, surveying his new realm.

I didn't know they had another fall shipment. I bet you're excited! I think it's probably for the best that you planted it the way you did. I have two tanks with those same dimensions, and they are really hard to light effectively at the bottom, especially if there are wider-leafed plants or pieces of hardscape sticking out towards the top.

Yeah, so what's up with the orange? They were pretty red when I saw them. More pics please...
