Default New Vic 33 g

Well I finally got to get a Vic up and going. I started one back in 2007 but life. Had other plans I guess. My wife has made my dream come true. I got the Vic up and running a couple weeks ago and added 3 Azureus's today. I love it and can't thank her enough. Hope you all like it.

Are you using a phone? My phone corrects viv to Vic. I always just type out vivarium.

Looks really nice! Any future plans for more frogs?!?

Just a piece of advice that will save you a lot of pain down the road: get rid of the foam background insert. Not only will the foam eventually break down and rot (and smell), but it can be very easy for the frogs to get back there and get stuck. Those foam inserts are meant more for dry inhabitant tanks, not the bioactive vivariums that are so necessary for PDFs.

Also, what kind of wood is that?

Other than that, though, this is a good start. I'm glad you put a good layer of leaf litter down. Continue to lay down fresh layers of leaf litter once the old ones begin to break down and your frogs will be very happy.

Its Manzanita branches. I got everything from Josh's frogs for the viv. I did a lot of checking on the foam background some said bad some said Good including Josh's. I sealed around the background to stop things getting back there including little frogs. I wasn't ready to Do the spray foam background yet. I will defiantly be adding leaf litter as needed got a big bag. I have springtail in it and have a large culture going to keep them up. Going to add some ispods soon as well. Thanks for the advice noted for sure. They are finally getting out more. They can be funny as he'll especially one who does the Spiderman climbing up the glass. Thinking of adding a small cork bark ledge to the back. Still thinking on that. Thanks again
