Default First Frogs - Mantella

So I collected my first frogs today - very exciting! Iíve been keeping reptiles and things for many many years but never an amphibian

I setup my Biopod Aqua just over a month ago and have let it settle in a bit and the springtails and woodlice start breeding. The plants in it are all growing at a mental rate but Iíve set it up so I can keep it fairly well regulated. I love gardening and this is like having an entire garden on an easy to manage scale. Wonderful. Some plants will be culled completely. I have over planted a lot in terms of variety as I was interested to see how everything would do. I kinda assumed a fair few wouldnít like the environment but so far everything seem to be growing like a weed.

I have gone for a trio of mantella madagascariensis - partly cos I think theyíre really pretty, partly because the Biopod has an auto routine for them, and partly because I could get some guaranteed captive bred.

The pinged out of their container in 3 different directions and pretty much vanished straight away as I expected. Ten minutes later though they had found each other and were sitting in a little group and started coming out into the open and having an explore. I hope this is a good sign?

I was intending to leave them alone and not try a feed until tomorrow. Any thoughts on that appreciated (although should they be hungry and keen there are a LOT of springtails they could have a go at!).

Pics to follow as soon as I work out how to post a pic on this forum

I got them from Ameyzoo in the UK but I think they originally came from a Dutch breeder.....

You can try some flies and see if they respond, although there is certainly no harm in waiting a day too assuming they are in good shape.
