Default Peat vs. Coco-Husk?

Hi all,
Im in the middle of setting up my second viv and decided to try the foam/silicone/earth method (pretty much just like black jungle's). I was wondering which works/looks better applied to the silicone, peat or coco? Any pros/cons to either? I have a gigantic bag of peat and know that the bricks are very cheap. I was even thinking of a combo of the two to get some contrasts. Since I've never done this I was just wondering. From what I understand they are functionally similar just peat is less eco friendly?
