Default My Office Build

Back in August of 2013 I got back into Darts after a long hiatus. I had been breeding and keeping pythons and at the NARBC show in Arlington I picked up a group of Tinctorius "boulanger" from Josh's Frogs. They are currently housed in a 40G breeder in our dining room and have done well and produced some tads and a froglet already for me. I believe there is a group of 3.1 that were purchased all together.

Here is that setup:

And some of the frogs:

Not long after that we sold our entire python collection which freed up a room in the house to become the office and frog room. I wanted to have a "wall" of frogs opposite my desk. I contacted Ghostvivs on here about building some custom tanks and got with a carpenter to build out the cabinetry.

In March of this year we started on the project:

With Paint and deco

Cabinet base installed:

Culture Drawers:

Based stained and poly'd:

RO Water storage for Mistking hidden:

Tanks added and planted and custom canopy built and added as well:

We have the following housed in the tanks:
  • R. benedicta
  • R. vanzolini
  • O. pumilio "Vulture Point"
  • R. imitator banded

The last tank is for E. Anthonyi

For lighting I got custom made LED bars from buildmyled.com and for a controller for lighting and misting we are using an Ecozone controller.

LED:

Controller:

The lights are cooled using 4" fans that can be purchased at Target and they are timer synched with the light cycle. Works better than expected.

The rails and the tanks in their entirety were built by forum member Ghostvivs. Great guy and he hand makes the rails.

Gorgeous! Your setup is stunning, your choice of frogs excellent, your cooling system is the same that I use for my epips tank: in a word excellent!
Compliments and keep us updated

Thanks! I will get the camera equipment out and take some frog pics and post those up soon as well. Frogs are calling, seen transporting, and I have a bene tad in a canister so they all seem happy.

No problem mohlerbear. I have about 15 vent tads in various stages right now. Caught my bene with 3 tads today and have seen my vanzolini transporting as well.

I notice on your Exo's that there is a plastic strip on the doors, assuming for FF proofing.
What and where?

Those are not Exos they are Ghostvivs that are custom built here in Texas by a forum user by the same name. He hand builds the vents and all the sealing. The doors actually slide instead of opening out like an Exo.

My vivs are 17" w x 22"d x 24"h and were built to that size to fit in a particular area of my home.

Additionally, the plastic strip between the sliding panels is actually a bead a silicone that Ghostvivs puts on them to do exactly what you speculated. Fruit Fly proofing.

Update on the growing out and all else frog world here. The tanks are growing out well and the frogs seem to be thriving as I have multiple tads and have seen some froglets in the tanks as well. I have a bunch of anthonyi, vents and 'Boulanger' tincs in grow out tubs as well.

Here is what it looks like now:

Here is a banded imitator:

An anthonyi:

A vanzo:

Some 'Boulanger' tads growing out:

I also built out a mint terribilis tank in my dining room and I have 5 froglets in there:

I recognize that wall of frogs! He isn't lying about having tads/froglets. I have never seen so many.
The vents are doing fantastic by the way! Way bolder than I anticipated.
I really am starting to like those vanzos. I may have to snag some at some point.
The mints tank is coming in really nice mike!

Thanks Chris! I have some vanzo tads in broms right now so hopefully will see some morph soon.

Bighurt, I am not sure but I think he was getting larger stock and cutting it. He has gone dark lately so I have no way of finding out at this time either. If I do find out anything I will let you know.

No worries I searched every plastic distributor I could think of, USPlastics, UCS, modern plastics...finally I give up and close the browser and a cookie reading banner ad shows the item I was looking for;

Millable Black Acetal Bar stock...go figure.

I'll order some this week and mill it for my vivarium builds I'm working on.
