Suggestion: More light! Those 2 end tanks look like they could use a good does of light.

They do look nice however. Great job.

Possibly. I am running two T-8 6500K bulbs with a very good reflector. The pics are a lot darker then the tanks really are. I didn't use a flash due to the possibility of reflection of light. But the two on the end are 20 Gallon High Verts. the Middle is a 10 gallon. After that do you really think I need more light?

Yes. That is definately not enough IMO and experience. It will be okay for the top plants but anything lower than half way will either suffer, lose color or get really leggy. I've been wrong before though so you could try it for a while and see.

Would another two bulbs be sufficient?

It would but then you may have to worry about the heat. I guess it depends on what kinds of plants you get as well. If you keep with some of the lower light ferns, Begonia and Philodendron, you may be alright with the way it is now.

You can also more your tanks toward the center of the lights, and move your supplies to the outside. The ends of bulbs produce much less light than the center.

If you raise the light up off the tank just an inch or two, you'll really reduce the effect of heat without really effecting your light levels.

Yea I think pretty soon I will go pick up another fixture and two more bulbs. I will probably try suspending both fixtures above the tanks from the ceiling. And just play with the lights in order to acheive a good harmony of temp and light.

Thanks,

crb
