Default Drill Walmart 10gal?

I'm thinking of getting tanks for my racks from walmart. Does anyone know if the bottoms of the tanks (aquaculture) walmart brand tanks are tempered?

I know the larger tanks at walmart are tempered but not too sure about the smaller ones. I think only the bottoms are tempered though, but I would still play it safe and get another brand.

I dont know about where you are, but here the ten gal tanks are cheaper at petsmart by @ a buck. Maybe the people at petsmart can tell you if their tanks are tempered. You can probably get more knowledgeable (sp)people to help you there.

There was a post about Topfin tanks in the P&C section recently - they're not tempered. Neither are AGA 10g gallons.

If you have a Petworld Warehouse near you, get the tanks from there. 10 gallons tanks are only $7 at my Petworld.

Do you need a special drill bit to drill into glass?

Thanks, Curt

Hmm, how much do they cost and where do I find them?
Is there a risk of breaking the glass? I have a 190 gallon tank that I want to put a hole in the side of, should I or shoudln't I?

Thanks, Curt.

You should but you should learn on a 10 not the 190. Also I suggest getting an expensive bit. The cheap ones donít last. I get mine at http://www.jehmco.com. See http://www.jehmco.com/PRODUCTS_/HARDWAR ... rills.html

Be sure to find out if the pane that you want do drill is tempered. I don't recomend drilling tempered glass.

Id take the 190 to a shop to get done... they normally do not charge much.
