They're pretty much the same as any other horizontal, just bigger or smaller. If you really need pics i'd start searching through some old posts in this section. I'm sure there are some out there but all of those people may not post anymore.

Hey Lee, how are you going to light that thing?

I think drilling a few small holes in the top, dropping and match in and then running like hell should do the trick....

thanks! for once somebody posted picks of a 55 gallon fish tank instead of a barrel of gas.

I'm guessing the dimensions are 48 x 20 x 13.

Were did u buy all the plants?

how much did u spend to build it?

T & C terrariums, Andy's Orchids, and Black Jungle. All the ferns and my large Anthurium(not pictured) I got for free (plants that were on the brink of death and about to be thrown out, now they are all thriving!). I bought the tank, stand, and light used for 240, I put in a 120 some odd dollar misting system from Mist King. Building it was just the cost of gravel, soil, leca balls, two exoterra caves, a zoo-med external canister filter, and a fake branch. Sorry I don't remember how much it was. Be prepared to spend 300 in totall, easily.
Some interesing plants I got,
Phalaenopsis lobbii
Pleurothalis triboloides
Haraella odorata
Cischwenfia pusillia

the white bat plant (Tacca)
Dorstenia
Anthurium 'pink lady'
Anthurium clavinervum
Pothos scandense
)something like that)
Syngonium podophyllum
Cryptocoryne wendtii
Anubias barterii

Amazon swords
Fittonia 'juanita'
Saleginella

Neoregellias, the dwarf varieties.
Maidenhair fern
two other types of fern
tropical moss

Titan,

A couple of small things on your costs. You should not need 4 bricks of coco fiber. I only used 1 on a 40 gallon with GS background. My 40 gallon is about the same dimensions as a 55 except it is 36" across instead of 48". You can usually get 3 bricks for $10. And three bricks should be plenty. Also eggcrate in my area is about $12 for one 4' by 2' section. Maybe it is cheaper in your area of the country.

I have a local friend who is starting a 55 gallon soon, and I will be consulting on the project. It is a lot of work, but a lot of fun to see it complete.

Good Luck.
