Default Nice suprise, bad suprise

put my escudo in a small exo terra until their main tank gets done now that they are out of quarantine. was gone for the weekend and came back to find 2 eggs, so i'm glad they got me a nice new years present and confirmed that they were 1.1

parents

two little eggs, hopefully these don't develop so i don't have to wait till they finish raising them to move them into their perm. tank but they look like they are good

on a similar note... i found on friday what looked like a good clutch (FINALLY) from my bribri pair. after numerous bad clutches over the past year i was happy. returned today to find the eggs gone... looks like one of the parents had a snack. i've just about had it with this pair

scene of the crime...

You've got to be the only person I know hoping that their Escuado eggs don't develop... gosh..

Anywho, maybe... MAYBE... the next Bri Bri clutch won't go poof. Maybe.

Gorgeous frogs. You are positive the parents are eating them? Sure you don't have some stealthy snails in there?? That just sound weird that they'd eat their own eggs.

I was thinking the same thing as Antone, until I just witnessed my male Colon eating their eggs...yes, I said male. There is only the pair in there, and this was the first clutch that they laid...I figure they were bad or they would have been weak froglets, anyway...at least that is my way of looking on the bright side. Within the same few hours, the first clutch that some new Escudo laid (two eggs which were kind of not looking like they were going to develop anyway) disappeared...luckily they laid 5 more that look much better, so maybe they felt guilty.
