Default Small 5"x5"x12" nano build.

Well we just acquired some new space at my job and the previous tenant had a bunch all glass vases . I got this one and thought it would make a neat nano vert!

Well it's 5" wide , 5" long and 12" tall.

I'll be using a clay substrate mix for the background with some monkey ladder vine and small cork tubes . It will be planted and left horizontal and left to grow in for a few weeks , then turn it vertical and do the false bottom, substrate and leaf litter.

The bottom substrate barrier will be 4"x5" in 1/8th inch glass. The top/door will be 8"x5" .

Suggestions in really small plant for this tank would be appreciated .

I do not understand the point of letting the plants grow in Horizontal orientation why not just flip it from the start?

Neat tank. Any idea what sp. you are going to put in there?

I'd think it would be easier to have plants start using gravity rather than pins, toothpicks etc. once they get rooted that are put.

Not sure if I'm going to put anything aside for plants in this. May use it from time to time once established as a growout tank for froglets.

You could just put it inside a bigger viv, so that your frogs will have a viv to look at

Got the background done with silicone. Used ABG and OrchidBark. Then a 12" cut of monkey ladder.

Default Small 5"x5"x12" nano build.

Lite misting

Set it vert to see the layout and possible plant placement

Now back horizontal, where it will stay for the next few weeks while being planted and letting things root and grow in-place. Still trying to figure out how to hinge this thing. I'm thinking about getting some clear strong 3M tape .

I got bored/impatient and planted the tank . Came out pretty good. I did rub the monkey ladder with a moss mix.

Picked up two true miniature Neos from yesterday's Frog Day. These are said to be adult plants . They should be good in this tank .

Thanks again Matt for organizing this FrogDay. Really good turnout .

This is so awesome, I wish I had this little tank. What kind of brom is that first mini one exactly? I want to get some. Id recommend Neoregelia dungsiana, it's pretty small and narrow. I love mine.

Thanks . I felt like this tank would be hit or miss. So far it's been a hit. They are both Neo.liliputiana
