Default Pics for Doug

Doug has been asking for pics of the mantellas he has sent out to people for a while now. I figure I'll post some for him. Here ya go Doug!

These are a few shots of madagascariensis you sent me. All the babies are now close to adult size.

I'll try to get some more pics of them as well as some pics of the ebanoui which are large adults now. Thanks a bunch for the fantastic frogs doug

Josh

I'm really surprised that these and baroni aren't more popular than they are, they are stunners.

I completely agree. I love mine.

Here are a few snaps of one of the ebanoui I got from Doug.

The ebanoui love that bromeliad.

Do any of you have a good care sheet for the madagascariensis or mantella baroni? I googled it but i'm not sure if the ones i found are very reliable.
What kind of setup do you have them in?

I may be a bit odd, but I just LOVE the "brown" Mantellas! They are like exotic woodfrogs! LOL!

Gotts get some one day... Thanks for sharing, and wonderful photography too!

Finally, someone has come forth with pictures of the mads that I sent out!

How big are they SVL at this point? I'm curious if they're measuring up to the WC parents since if you remember, the first four mads I produced CB were smaller than the parents.

The coloration on those is outstanding.

I have baby mads and a few baby pulchra that need homes but it's too cold to ship and the ones I have are already claimed for right now, in case anyone was wanting more. Whatever is left will be available when it warms up.

Jbear, here is one of my WC females. I think she is the mother, but my memory is fuzzy and I have two females. Penny is 7.5 years old now. Ebenaui were my first mantellas and I still have my three.

I agree, the brown mantellas are super cool! By far one of my favs!

Doug, the sv length of the individual pictured i would say is around 3/4 of an inch. A couple of the others you sent me are easily 7/8 of an inch sv now. Adult size for sure. My largest adult which is wc is just over an inch sv. The young you sent me are easily double the size they we're before. They are doing fantastic and the green on some of these cb is nicer than my wc. Almost a bluish green. Very attractive! Thank you again Doug for such fine frogs!

Oh, when you're ready to ship frogs out, let me know! I'm itchin for more mantellas!

Josh

Marc Staniszewski's Mantella FAQ
In that caresheet it says tanks have to be completely cleaned weekly since they create a lot of waste. What is your guys' experience with this?
I am making a fully planted 36x18x24 exo terra viv with cleaner bugs.

No that's not necessary; I don't do that with any of my tanks, including the mantella vivs. Here's another link with lots of good mantella info including individual species accounts:
