I got a pair of leucs (froglets that turned out to be a pair) and a Red Amazonicus. Well, not exactly for free but in exchange for some frog sitting.

I've also gotten some delicious looking isopods!

Found a 4'-T5 four bulb fixture put out for trash pickup. When I stopped to grab it my wife and kids wanted to hide under the floor mats they were so embarrassed. This is it in my build/bug room, no flash needed.

My dad used to drive around on trash day looking for bags of leaves put out for the trash. He would stuff them into the back of his car and take them home, add a handful of slow release fertilizer and stack them under some trees to compost. This actually started a brief neighbor war (one neighbor reported that my dad was hoarding trash (he got revenge by planting runner bamboo along the fence line with no barrier into the neighbbor's yard...).... A light fixture is nothing compared to being given a ride to high school in a car filled with black trashbags of leaves.....

A few things:

1. My Congo African Grey parrot named Solomon including cage and accessories
2. My violin
3. Drinks and shots I had last night

I'd say my boyfriend and family, but they've actually cost me a lot of money over the years! :P

Ive seen a lot of very cool free things on craigslist (3 cockateils, a blue and gold macaw, fish tanks, ect) but never had the time to get them. Alot of things were so cheap it almost seemed free.

the best thing I really got for free is about 10-15 plant clippings, a couple of fruit fly cultures, some young springtail cultures, 3 gallons of leaf litter, some ff media, some exelsior, and priceless knowlage, all from a dendroboard member who's name will remain unknown unless he says otherwise.

I also found a 60 gallon tank with stand in the ally once. The stand was in terrible condition, and the tank came with some extremly dirty gravel and some stagnet rainwater. Oh well, at least it didn't leak. I cleand it up, replaced the rotting parts of the stand, and primed and then painted it black. With some help, of course (inside joke). it looked decent enough to sell. so we sold it for $80. I put it up for sale on DB, but we also had a craigslist ad and sold it through that instead.

The guy who really got me started in the hobby gave me all of my starter frogs (azureus and bicolors) for free along with my first fruit fly cultures and tons of free information and help. And this was when they were very expensive, azureus were running $150 each! I will always be thankful for that!

Along the same note I have on multiple occasions received free frogs with my orders! Those are the best to me because they show just how much of a community this hobby really is and the good friends one can make.
