Default iPad or Android Tablet

So I am heading towards a tablet to use as an Ereader, take meeting minutes, web surfing, ect. I use an android phone and have not own an Apple product prior to this . I would like to hear from those who are users about what are the perks. I have an iPad 2 coming but have considered selling it for a Samsung Galaxy 10.1.

Jason I am not up on technology like many of the younger members but I did get Lynn an ipad for Xmas. I was told that it was the easiest to use and had the best aps. I must say not having to use windows was a plus and you just basically charge it and it's good to go.

I personally despise iTunes and find it unusable to be used for syncing music... But I have a iphone which I absolutely love ( had 3 gens of the palm smartphone and a BB) I just purchased an iPad. I tried the android and the lack of apps as well as freezing moving between screens was an issue. The thing i did like about the android was the widgets.

As for reading Stanza is a great EPUB reader. I think I have read 50 books on my iPhone and the iPad would make it easier. The adobe reader needs work and you would be wise to get one of the ten dollar PDF readers.

Oh and Tapatalk to read this forum and respond to your posting

Android all the way. The top of the line tablets have many more features. I despise Apple in the fact that even though its available, they purposefully decide to omit available technology just so they can have it in next seasons model. The processors in android tablets are faster and more reliable. Any app available in Apple store is available or has an equivalent in the android market.

I know this is not accurate, the district I teach in just spent thousands in grant money for iPads. The apple has some educational apps that just do not exist for android. I am a passionate android lover. I want the most bang for my buck, and I know I can get my apps from Amazon on my phone and tablet. However, I got a deal on the iPad and it seems the touch interface and typing is quicker on the iPad that the Samsung Galaxy, which is suppose to be the top of the line tablet. After thinking about it and a trip to Best Buy, I think the iPad is my tablet.

Motorola Xoom refurbished with the same warranty as buying a brand new from newegg.com $350 Buy a ZooGue case for(highly recommended) and it's indestructible.

Also if money is not a thing.... Motorola just came out with the XOOM 2 (Xyboard). It's much sleeker, thinner, lighter, and more comfortable to hold, if you don't plan on buying a case or sleeve for it. Though it is almost double the price I paid for my Xoom.

I will not bow to the turtle-necked overlords.
That said, there's no denying that Apple does make a great product. My major beef with them is the fact that you HAVE to use "i" products to connect it to anything else though. There's already a standard that everything else uses (USB) but apple continues to force their hardware on folks. I know it helps them to maintain their image / line their pockets but, as a computer person, it irks me. It junks up the market with unnecessary dongles / connectors / crap. I already have all the USB cords I need so I'm going to stick with products that can use them.

My Zagg screen protector should be here by Saturday, my Malware Hybrid case is being delivered tomorrow, and my iPad tomorrow. I guess I will join the Apple group. I have no intentions to leave my Android phone.
