Smile Can anyone tell me what these frogs are worth?

I recently acquired a Pair of "Bri Bri" locale pumilios, and was wondering what they are worth? Thanks in advance.

Nothing. You should probably just send them to me!
Seriously though, I don't know the value, but you would want to find out if they are really Bri Bri. Bri Bri have not been imported for many years and have become rather rare in the hobby. Just this year, however, an importation was made were redder morph of El Dorado (I think they were Las Tablas) have been being passed off as Bri Bri.

If they are truly locale-specific Bri Bris and you have the documentation to prove it, they could be worth $400 to $500, depending on appearance, gender, etc.

Thanks for the responses..They are TRUE BRI BRI's ...I know this because thats were " I " found them (just outside the town/village a couple miles north of Panama) along with about 50 more, in less than an hours time, while I was searching for Fer de lance and bushmasters. I located a 100 ft waterfall and hiked up the riverbank where I saw MASS quantities ...but you had to look close, they would spot me from 20-30 feet away and start to hop up the riverbank into the leafy debri..I don't want to sell them..just had no idea of there value..They are doing fantastic...I set there enclosure up EXACTLY how I saw them in the wild..just wish i could find them there natural food source...here in the states...however they love there fruitflys...I will take pics tonight and post them, I did see plenty of blue jeans near the Pacure river (more central costa rica) but bri bri is the only place I found this particular form...They look like the pics above, but more red, than orange...

so are you saying you smuggled them? are you aware, that makes them poisonous, and you need to test for chytrid, and it's a criminal offence!?

The frogs would only toxic for a very short amount of time. We have a toxicon report somewhere on it, but I believe it was under 10 days 'till there is only trace elements of the toxins left.

...Federal offence, actually Friendly advice: Ask a mod to delete this thread.

Where exactly in Bri Bri were you? I'll be there in a few weeks and would love to see the population. Near the waterfall to the north of the town?

That's an interesting way of putting it. So, let me revise my earlier estimate. If you have LEGAL documentation that they are actually Bri Bris, two should be worth $400 to $500. If not, they're probably worth 5 to 10 years plus parole.

I have heard of issues after touching a frog months after it left the wild, can anyone point me towards documents about how long they keep their toxicity. Thanks.

Your not saying you smuggled them but your not saying you did not, Infact I'd bet you didn't actually get them down there but who knows. And as for your 40 pairs of Cobra's please, take it from someone who has actually bred them they are venomous not poisonous. As for the mambas nice add in. But there are FEW who breed these, again ask me how I know............. If you know about Chytrid Id bet your not new to this board but rather new to the new name your trolling with.....

This was another game played, If not someone tag his IP and repot it to F&W, Customs and you name it. Theres and idiot with smuggled frogs and venomous snakes. A very bad situation.

Dear poison beauties,
You have WAY too much hate inside you..WTF! I do breed elapids LEGALLY! Been doing it for some 17-18 years...Augusticeps once, mostly nigricollis, and kaouthia, have also produced melanoleuca three times!!..And as far as the smuggling your accusing me of..LOL! It's "here say" bro! Have you SEEN me with any frogs? didn't think so....basically I had ONE question on what bribris are worth...THATS IT!! oh , and I know about Chytrid because I read the post on THIS forum before I asked the original question..Get your facts straight..for F**K sake!

And yet you claim elapids are poisonous? Throwing them into the same category as dart frogs........doesnt seem all that seasoned. Yeah I may get a bit pissy but its you that brought this stuff up and you that is contributing to the bad name the herp hobby gets. There is no room for the unknown especially when you hint they are wc and collected by you. I have my doubts you dont know Bri Bri's value but ok, keep it up. I thought your were out of here?

And get this, hear say or not you hinted and played around which is all thats needed to get you investigated. You don't think F&W and other law enforcment agencies dont watch these boards? You dont think people on here wont report you? Its enough to mess your life up man. I know Florida's laws so if you have that venomous collection for real good luck getting permits renewed if this blows up in your face.......

Oh and your no expert until your sitting infront of a a pissed off female Ophiophagus hannah guarding her eggs. That is worth bragging about...

Your 100% right SNAKES ARE VENOMOUS! NOT POISONOUS...My mistake....GEEZ..no kidding they're venomous.....way to point out the small stuff.....I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on some things......didn't mean to ruffle your feathers. ...

p.s. I've had 3 hanna ..malaysians not indos...8', 10', & 14'. Bought my 14'er from a guy named Mike K. down here in florida(is this you?)...never bred them...but if you really want something to brag about, try removing 3 newborn tiger cubs from a 700lb irate Siberian tiger mother that doesn't want to care for them!!Thats bragging rights! and yes I USED to LEGALLY rescue/own tigers and other big cats...after 15 years it became too dangerous...sold the farm!

Actually on certain snakes are venomous. No need to get teared up and run home I was just tossing in my 2 cents on this. It is a public forum and you did lead with a hell of a intro.

No feathers ruffled, Just think about how your actions affect the hobby's future. Im sure you know how those guys playing with venomoids in the front yard make all venomous keepers look and tell me it doesnt cause issues and even bans on keeping them.
